You could create a null and parent your camera to the null. Animate the
null and that will free you to do compound moves by animating the camera
itself as well.
This isn't such a bad setup for situations where you won't be creating
compound moves but want to avoid the typical, "mechanical," nodal look of
CGI camera movement. You would position the camera away from your null
(the camera's parent) slightly and apply all animation to the null. This
will most dramaticly affect the look of camera rotations.
